Sidhu Moosewala’s real name was Shubdeep Singh Sidhu. He had a lot of love with his village and due to this connection, Shubdeep Singh Sidhu added the name of the village to his own name. He’s famous as Sidhu Moosewala in the whole world.

Sidhu was born on 11 June 1993 in Musa village of Mansa district. Sidhu’s father Balkaur Singh Sidhu is a retired fire brigade employee and Sidhu’s mother Charan Kaur Sidhu was the sarpanch of village Musa. Sidhu Moosewala belongs to the Sikh community. Sidhu Moosewala is a Punjabi writer (lyricist), Punjabi singer, rapper, actor by profession and was also a young state leader who entered Punjab politics.

How Shubdeep Singh Sidhu made his career in Punjabi industry??

Sidhu Moosewale’s parents wanted Shubdeep to become a big man. They wanted him to pay more attention to studies. But Shubhdeep was fond of singing since his childhood. Sidhu did his schooling from Government Model Senior Secondary School Mansa. Apart from participating in singing competitions from school Mansa, Shubhdeep used to enjoy singing and acting in school. Sidhu was more fond of singing than acting, that’s why his inclination towards singing increased.

After completing his schooling, Sidhu Moosewala went to GNDEC, Ludhiana with the dream of becoming an engineer. Sidhu did his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. He won the hearts of not only his colleagues but also the teachers by singing songs in every function from college fresher’s party.

The incident after which Moosewala decided to become a singer

It so happened that everyone in college used to praise Sidhu Moosewala’s songs, seeing which he felt that he should sing in a studio for a music company and so he tried hard. But for some time, no one raised their hand. After some time, a big musician got a call saying that he can sing Sidhu’s songs. This phone made Sidhu Moosewale so happy that he could not sleep the whole night. The next day he reached the said address but he did not meet the musician Sidhu and even after going around the office for several days, he did not meet Sidhu. Sidhu was deeply saddened by this incident with him and a spark kept burning in his heart. At that time, Sidhu Moosewala decided that he would write and sing his own songs. After facing a lot of difficulties he started writing and singing his own songs.

Sidhu continued to work hard, then after completing his college education he moved to Canada and then he started his singing career. Wrote the “Lyrics” of the song “Licence” which was sung by the famous singer “Ninja” and this song became a super duper hit. After that, with his own song “G Wagon” Sidhu became famous and then we got to see his fire everywhere.

Involvement in the Congress Party

Sidhu Moosewala has announced to contest the 2022 Punjab elections from his district Mansa. Sidhu made this announcement after joining the Congress party on December 3, 2021. Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sindhu welcomed this decision of singer Moosewala. Congress leaders Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu both believed that Sidhu is a youth leader who understands the sentiments of the youth well and his joining the party will give the right direction to the Punjabi youth.

Sidhu Moosewala believed that he did not enter politics to earn money or fame. He came into politics only to raise his voice for the people of his area and bring some good changes by being a part of the government system.

Moosewala made his debut in Punjabi cinema with the film “Yes I Am Student” under his own production company Jatt Life Studios. The film was written by Gill Raunta and directed by Tarnvir Singh Jagpal. Apart from this, Moosewala also worked in the film ‘Teri Meri Jodi’.

Sidhu’s last ride

Congress leader and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by assailants belonging to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on 29 May 2022 in Mansa district. Moosewala, who had left his village Mansa in his SUV with two other companions, was shot dead in the adjoining village of Jawaharke. Sidhu was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
